SO I quickly wanna thank you guys for the love you been showin the G.O.O.D Music this last week... well we've got some more stuff we'd love your opinion on... Lets get right into it, shall we???
I heard this next song about three weeks ago here, I dunno how I even came across it (oh I remember now, it was Akon's name on the credits that attracted me to the tuune lol) BUT its been on constant rotation since then! The tune's called 'Shawty' & its on that dude Shank's debut album titled 'King Kong'! What? You dunno who Shank is? You must know 'Julie'!?!? Well get your knowledge up is all I'm sayin lol! Lets jump right in... Production is courtesy Akon (KonVICT Music you already know) & Iloya of Starville Entertainment!!!
I aint gonna lie, this tune is straight FYRE!!! I'm excited from when I hear Akon go 'Konvict... Konvict' lol! Although he jus does the chorus, it's my favorite part of the song & the production? Its that kind that gets you off your seats in the club, in the crib, anywhere really lol!! & Shank handles his BIZ-I-NESS I must say (although that switch up in the 3rd verse? I dunno bout that though! You tell me whatchu think bout it!)
And I reached out to a few G.O.O.D people up @ Starville Ents & they hooked us with Shank's next single off the album. Apparently the video shoot for this comes up in 3 weeks! Its called 'Please Lord' & its produced by Dr. Frabz...
You know how you gotta have one deep track on your album these days? Well this one's it on KING KONG & its my favorite record... let's analyse this! LAS GIDI STAND UP!!!
From the heart of West Africa (YES I said IT! AND WHAT lol), we take a trip up to the heart of London... SOUF EAST baby!!! & From SE15, I bring to you Swift-Le & Bluzey, collectively known as FUTURE HISTORY! The self-proclaimed 'U.K's most innovative duo' hail from Peckham... I know what you're thinkin lol & we're not even gonna lie... Giggs & his SN1 collective have got the whole SOUTH LONDON MUSIC SCENE on lock-down so these guys have definitely got their work cut out for them! One thing we know though is, Swift & Blu are SOOO ready to stand UP & be counted amongst the contenders for the throne! Check this one out off of their latest mixtape 'How It Should Be Done! UK Cuts'... they sample Sway's 'Little Derek' on the track and its aptly called 'Next In Line'.
I dunno bout you lot but this is that feel good music right there!!! BIG shout outs to SHux on the original cut's production... his discography boasts production for Lupe Fiasco (Hi-Definition) & Alesha Dixon (Can I Begin) & Sway again (Saturday Night Hustle) to mention but a few, he's also been musical director for Lily Allen.
... And we've also got the Duo's (Swift-Le & Bluzey) 2008 underground smash, fire girl... Check it!!!
... OK LEt's hear it folks, what's your verdict on Swift & Bluzey???
SO... Sometime last year, when I heard Freshboy Entertainment was handling Teeto C'Mos' management, I had great hopes for the album, even greater hopes than I already had previously lol. You see me, I'm a Teeto fan from longtime, even before he was runner-up on the Channel O/Sprite Emcee Africa freestyle battle competition!!! Well his management sent me his first single a few days ago. It's called 'Oshamo' and it's produced by Tha Suspect and it's catchy as f**k lol! The chorus & hook will surely get you singing along even if you try hard NOT to, I literally catch myself goin 'ki lo de to fin be...'!!! The Beat on this is thumping & it's almost like Tha Suspect is saying 'I dare you NOT to bop your head and move your body to this' but you really jus can't help it, however (& its a relevant objection btw) the lyrics are... well lemme jus letchu listen...
I understand the idea behind the record still. It's the 'fun, humorous club banger' route, I get that but from the 'rapper extraordinaire' that is Mr. Crooked Letter himself??? ANyway you tell me whatchu think...
Teeto C'Mos is a lyrical BEAST which is why when I hear 'Oshamo', which is a good song 4 what it is, I jus feel there's suthin not quite there... SO I went diggin in the crates for some undaground C'Mos joints! If all you've heard from Teeto is 'Oshamo', then consider this a re-introduction & if you were ever in doubt of the kid's ability, well this is a re-awakening... check it!!! This one's called 'Back to School'
JHEEEZ!!! YES you can say that I told ya so!!! This next one is called '66 Bars' and its straight lyrical brilliance aswell...
Those two records were from his underground 12-track mixtape from 5 years ago (maybe 6)! There are tracks on there that are on PAR with any G.O.O.D stuff that's out NOW... All I'm saying is You sleep on Teeto C'Mos @ your own peril!!!
As always do tell us whatchu think about the music... Who're you're feeling? Who you're not??? Its your go...
Peace
I dont know oh but I prefer the new teeto to the old one! It's more Nigerian I think
ReplyDeleteteeto is good freestil but he is not an artist me he should just quit the game now b4 its 2late
ReplyDeleteNaah c'mon mehn! Teeto is a dope emcee, what did you not listen 2 those last two tracks though? i personally think Teeto has what it takes to blow up on the scene...
ReplyDeleteWATS GOOD BREDRIN? YOUR SITE IS LARGE! WHERE CAN WE GET MORE SWIFT-LE & BLUZEY ORIGINAL STUFF, LIKE PREVIOUS C.DS AND STUFF? THANKS
ReplyDeleteYooo you should check out their myspace for a start (jus click on their names on this blog). The only other c.d that I know they got is their 'fire girl' extended play c.d. its got two other tracks on there. One of em is called 'You Dont Know Who Man Is' but yeah we'll see what we can dig up for ya
ReplyDeleteHey, you know who this is...so i'm not even gonna put my name down. :P But i was listening to last weeks tracks the one with sonia i think, could have been better, she's gt it, but she needs to like improve on being stronger with her voice. Maybe she's diff live but i believe it could have been better. I like the 66 bars like the beat kinda like old skool hip hop, like summin mos def would do. i'l giv it 3/5. the others, are alright too but nothing really stands out! Keep bringin in that G.O.O.D. M.U.S.I.C
ReplyDeleteHmmm message me so I'm sure yeah lol! Thanks for the feedback, please do keep em coming COS that's why we do this, for your opinions, but you know I'm in love with that 'Baby Mi' tune, i like the 'understated-ness' of her voice on it. Glad you like the 66 bars though, i think it's cool too!
ReplyDeletecan someone plzzz tell me what fufu olympics is from teeto - oshamo
ReplyDeleteshawty-akon on a naija sounding beat (wicked!!!!)...u put it succintly head bopping no doubt
ReplyDeleteShank on please lord (wasn't feeling the voice synthesizer!!!! good song no doubt)
Future history (next in line)-good song but nufink near the grimy sound of Giigs and SN1 (prolly 'cos it's a different feel) and it ain't fair to pit this kats to the SN1 crew, that's murder right there imo
Fire Girl-what can I say...u got that right there man real G.O.O.D music....summin to bop to, but i'ma rank them as light weight's.....
On the Teeto stiz (Oshamo...ki lo de)...well he's our boy so i'ma have no choice but be subjective lol, seriously the track is banging (humour all around man,and good single guaranteed to get him on the street....at least we know he's capable oh dropping madder shit but even for this ....smoooking imo
Glad you liked the Shank/Akon collabo, I had 2 put it up still!!! I prefer 'please lord' though, maybe cos of the deeper (ish) lyrics.
ReplyDeletehmmm dunno bout calling swift & blu lightweights though? yes they may not be able to spar with SN1 at the minute but they keep droppin the G.O.O.D.M.U.S.I.C. and boi they'll take theirs!
and yes the track is banging but whether or not its a good song is very debatable... hence you get comments such as one b4 yours? We defo do know he can bring it though!!!
swift-le & bluzey is str8 fyre yo!!! thanks for the mixtape link!

Hahaha I was waitin 4 some1 2 quote that line lol but I'll reserve my reply lol
Thank you for blessin us, please do come again A.Y.L's DCT x
Teeto's a great rapper and he can switch styles and still sound great when he does. I can just imagine how surprised his fans got when they heard 'Osamo'...lol...that song's really cool. Then we saw him rep G.O.O.D music again on Knighthouse's The Finest with Saucekid and Mo'Cheddah. Luckily, I've heard some of the stuff he's recorded for his forthcoming album and they are just tite!
ReplyDeleteBig ups to Freshboy Ent. for reppin G.O.O.D music. Teeto, u knw u got M.et.al all day any day! xx
I wasn't very tickled when I first listened to Shank album, which was last week but now 'Please Lord' is growing on me. At firts it was just the usual suspects, 'Julie' & 'Never Felt' that had me going but I think i'm feeling it a bit more now. Rocked to 'Shawty' at #10 last night and it sounded really good. Definite G.O.O.D club hit.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely feelin' this Akon & Shank tune. I've already got it on repeat mode on my mp3 and i'm bopping to it. When I hear this in a club,I will definitely be the first one to skank to this. This is a great club banger. This song will really get people off their seats.....
ReplyDeleteI prefer Akon when he collaborates with other artists.
metalchic thanks 4 comin thru (finally lol) but yeah so Teeto? I can see you co-sign the dude! We do too and if stuff on his album is more of what he was on 'd finest' than 'oshamo' then i'm sure we're in for a GOOD album and 'Please Lord' is a biigg tune oh, get to know lol!
ReplyDeleteD.Js oh betta start playin 'shawty' in your sets!!! its heavvy
I am feeling both Shanks song...and you are right once i hear Akon... I'm ready to move...the switch up in the 3rd verse wasn't so bad actually...
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely feeling swift-le and bluzey...very nice
I feel you about Teeto going on the club banger, people will def, somewhat razz route, but it might be cos he didn't feel he was getting recognition for his rap. I love his rap and i feel once oshamo becomes public he is going to find it very difficult to be credible as a rapper. he is definitely good at it and i'm feeling him heavy...
Thats my fear with Teeto though but I suppose certain people don't see it that way. How I see it is, you got dudes like ModeNine and M.I who keep the rap essence & they still up there in the Music scene but I dunno! I luv off C'Mos and I do hope the album is more hip-hop!!!
ReplyDeleteY'all dont know wots about to pop off with teeto just wait and see...FYI check this out www.myspace.com/teetocmos and these aint even close to whats cooking.....G.o.o.d Music keep repping
